I know I have a piece of junk to work with.  It is a troy bilt with variable speed peddle.  My brother and I have been working on getting it back running.  We have it running now and plan on either removing or modifying the governor, changing front and rear pulley if we can make that work.  If we can get these things done we plan on using the steering shown in George's build and adding a better brake.  We just plan on riding it around for the heck of it and don't plan on racing it.  My question is if anyone has ever been successful at getting any descent speed from these pieces of garbage.  LOL.  Any advice is appreciated.  Maybe sometime we will get a better machine for this application...
