Coffee Shop / What is the TRUTH?
« on: April 11, 2014, 01:43:17 pm »
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.
Winston Churchill

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
Winston Churchill

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.
Winston Churchill

Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
John 8:32

You can’t handle the truth.
A Few Good Men

The real question is; what is the truth?

Coffee Shop / Microsoft XP and Office 2003 Support ends on 08-Apr-2014
« on: February 02, 2014, 12:25:48 pm »
FYI:

Microsoft XP and Office 2003 Support ends on 08-Apr-2014 (ie. this means no more updates or bug fixes). If you currently use XP PC's or you have any semi-retired XP PC's (ie. basement, garage, etc.), they need to be connected to the internet and force Windows to update them.

Coffee Shop / Re: un-equal rpm
« on: December 16, 2013, 01:34:19 pm »
Tach the crank slot for the actual RPM's.
Cylinder "stuff" for 1, 2 or both are wrong.
The actual RPM's are always equal.

Coffee Shop / Re: removing a set screw
« on: February 05, 2013, 07:14:57 pm »
Put a "good" allen wrench in the set screw hole. Get a CO2 can (like a paint can) and spray the set screw but not the pulley. The CO2 will cool the set screw and make its diameter smaller. This is must faster than heat. This method is used to remove pressed on bearings on pump shafts (ie. cool the shaft and pull off the bearing). Do not put the CO2 on your fingers or you will get a BIG surprise.

I think your math is not 100%. The message board does not allow mathematical symbols so I had to create it in PowerPoint and made it into a .jpg file (attached).

Briggs Flathead / Re: Fuel pump
« on: January 23, 2012, 09:10:11 pm »
This fuel pump thread has talked about oil re out of the crankcase so there is a WOO Outlaw tractor in one of the Heymow lower sections that does have an "exhaust sucker" and a puke can. Both systems work. Both systems have good & bad results.

Post Your Video / Re: Trailer for On Your Mark, Get Set, MOW!
« on: April 23, 2009, 01:27:37 am »
I just looked at your video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDpd4E0RhwU) and one of your racers has “Cheetah” attached on his back. What is the story about the “Monkey Man”?

FYI:

Attached to this post is a map to the WOO Test Track (Stonehouse Mower Speedway) from the US border (Port Huron Michigan). The PowerPoint file was converted (cut up) into 4 JPG files so it would fit into your very small limit for file attachments. Hope this helps. If not send me a PM and/or post and I can get something better.

Non-Affiliated Races / Re: Racers in mich
« on: April 18, 2008, 11:23:33 am »
Bountyhunter:

As Ryan stated in an earlier post, there are multiple people within WOO that would be interested in some type of Ontario/Michigan home & home race because of the close proximity and that you get to race against other racers. We can not race in the US as a club because of insurance limitiations but can race as guests of your club as individuals. This would definitely be a non-affiliated race. We have provisions in our rules to allow guest racers to race at our events as long as the basic safety rules are met. It sounds like you have the same thing. I think what George was getting at was how would our tractor classes fit into your tractor classes and vise versa so there would be competitive races. This is something that will need further discussion and a better understanding.

Driveline / Re: Right foot clutch
« on: February 08, 2008, 07:13:40 pm »
It you want to simplify things run a centrifugal clutch and you only have 2 "levers" (gas & brake) to worry about instead of 3 (gas, brake and clutch) and your hands only need to be involved with steering. This is assuming your club rules allow your class to run a centrifugal clutch. Our club does.

Post Your Video / Western Ontario Outlaws (WOO) Promo Video
« on: February 08, 2008, 09:54:24 am »
Racers:

Here is the YouTube link to the WOO promo video. It took days and days of trial and error to get it to upload with no errors. I had to lower the video resolution several levels and remove all the fancy picture transitions but here it is. I will work on getting a way of releasing the video file in its best quality. Let me know what you think of it.
