Briggs OHV & Vanguard / govenor/throttle problem
« on: May 15, 2011, 08:08:27 pm »
so i got my throttle hooked up today and it worked great with the engine off but when i tried it with the engine running the govenor kept it at min. throttle no matter what i did. so i have no throttle control at all. i know the governor is supposed to keep it under a certain RPM but am i really maxing out at min throttle?

Driveline / Clutch question
« on: April 20, 2011, 07:15:14 pm »
Alright so i was wondering if this setup will work. i have the engine pulley then a idler pulley and then the clutch pulley. basically i was wondering if the clutch would work right with the idler pulley in between the engine pulley and the clutch or should i move the idler pulley to the other side of the clutch. in between the trans pulley and the clutch.

thanks
i also have to do the belt guides. should i do 3 on the engine pulley? one the front and 1 on each side. where else do i need guides?

thanks

Driveline / CVT snowmobile clutch

Will a CVT, snowmobile clutch, work on its side? I'm wondering if it would work properly if ran on a vertical shaft engine to the trans axle.

Thanks

yea the price is good... little over 20 dollars shipped to my house. i have some throttle cable brake lever that i was going to use but for the setup to work i would need to order a few small pieces and after all that it would prolly come out to over 20 dollars with shipping to i i figured i just buy this and get my moneys worth.
well close to 30 dollars with tax and handeling but still worth it

All MST 200-Series gear-drive transaxles (204-503, 205-510D, 206-545C, etc.) have always been all-gear transaxles, including reverse.  The MST 200-Series transaxles are an upgrade of the 930-Series, which did have a chain reverse.

oh alright. thanks for the clearing up:)

oh alright thanks for the info. i just wanted to be preparred before i tore this thing open so i found a blown up diagram and it didn't show a reverse chain and it wasn't in the parts list. do you know how this could be? its a peerless 205 6 speed.

i know its not the best tranny ever for racin but it will have to do me till it breaks
