My wife tentatively agreed to cut the chord and let me go to the All-American Mower Championships.

I'll bring with me 20 copies of the october and 30 copies of the November edition (hot off the press at that time). $5 when I'm down there. Let me know if these numbers are too high. Anyone interested in a print edition that will be there, let me know. I can't go higher than 50 total copies, tho.

But it does finally have the the October edition posted there. My cousin has the patience of Job. It's not officially ready to go yet, but pretty dang close. Still ironing out a few kinks in it.

The website is just a supplement to the print edition, and as I get more family with Internet lingo, we can add more stuff on there. 

Heymow will always be the hub of information, though, and the generating of ideas will always come through this site and the loyal patrons here. Thanks for all the support.

Feedback of the finished product is needed though. I've only gotten two comments, and would like a lot more feedback!

If anyone is skilled in InDesign or I suppose even Photoshop that would want to work on a project for the December edition, here's what I have in mind ... I'd do it, but I'm terrible with artsy-type programs and don't have the patience to finish it.

Here's the concept:

A image of the United States with the Eastern Seaboard of Canada included. Put a clever icon, maybe a tire or something, for location of clubs. Next to the tire, include contact information maybe? In the whitespace where the centeral and western part of Canada would be, give the US and ARMA and SOMA national contacts...

Any feedback? This will take a little research and a couple phone calls maybe ... Again, not until the December issue, so you would have all of October and the two-thirds of November to work on it.

I think a key, though, would be needed so folks know who to get a hold of and plan weekend vacations. Maybe a "Green Flag" icon to show the different tracks ...

    One thing I want to reassure to all of you who may participate, buy or advertise in "Mowmentum" is that I'm for real. As Popeye would say, "I am what I am and that's all that I am."
   Well, for me, I'm a story teller and an editor. We do share one common passion, though, and that's lawnmowers and the racing of such. My work address is www.perutribune.com if you want to fact check me.
    I've been in the newspaper industry for 12 years, and it wasn't until a month ago that a fire was rekindled that was nearly extinguished after the day-to-day routine of drug busts, court proceedings and commissioner meetings.
   Without giving my complete resume, I will say this, that you're content and ideas are safe with me. There's a brain-trust, so to speak, that I've bounced several ideas off of, and in turn, have had some bounced back to me.
   For three years, I was a sports editor in the hills of Southern Indiana, and covered the historic Salem Speedway (half-mile asphalt, similar to Bristol in build and bank), and several dirt tracks around the area. So I'm familiar with the racing lingo and how to recap events.
   Then I moved back to Northern Indiana and found the Twelve Mile 500 (twelvemile500.com) and built my first few mowers.
   I guess the biggest thing I can advise is to participate and be involved in this magazine. I can't do it all myself, although I'll sure make a run at it, and bounce ideas off of me.
   I believe in this product and the potential. More logistics need to be ironed out, but by the January edition, we should have a monthly budget that will leave you gripping the steering wheel tight until the product arrives in the mail.

A neat feature story that I'd appreciate comments on is the IMOW/Super Stock division. I know at the us nationals, Pierece and one of the Sullivans raced the same machine in JP and IMOW. (And this thread was in the Coffee Shop, too). What's it like participating in so much back-and-forth racing?

Follow up question, what's a realistic ball park for a starter mower...?
