Get your weights dead on and use ALL the horsepower your makin, don't just obliterate the tires!!! That's where were still lookin with our pullin truck
-
ha ha yeah i know and the dave woods motor he has like 40 to 45 pounds of flywheel weight so hes making alot of torque!
-
No doubt his engine is a large player in his success. But ya gotta be able too hook it all up and drive it too. ;)

lol yes thats true. i just picked up a billet rod that was made for something else and a little machine work i'll have a billet rod in my 8hp kohler alter! :woo: so i'll be the only guy on the track running a billet rod and cam! i hope it will hold cause it will be a tight fit if i get it machined and i dont know if it will hold or not! IF it does hold i'll have to either keep it a secret or sell some... lol

nice well if you get bored this weekend come on up to columbus ohio to the nqs pull ought to be plenty there for you to learn most of the old fellers there pulled stock back in the day and should be able to help you out

well i wont be going even tho i want to. ijust started to tinker with honda OHV motors and they seem easier to get the horsepower up for the money. i believe if i build a 8hp honda i could beat everyone with it on the dyno! lol

So it looks like the K181 isn't going to be your plan of attack anymore? Thanks for all the good information you've search via email.

well i'm still going to run my K181 kohler! but next year i'll have to have a 8hp honda to tinker with to see if it will make more ponies! :P since OHV makes more horspower easily and it should not be problem with it! there is more parts available for the honda GX240 than the kohler k181! the kohler done cost me some serious money! but i doubt those hondas will! there are so many ways to make cheap HP on OHV engines! they dont take much to get it going!
