Briggs OHV & Vanguard / emulsion tube on walbro
« on: March 09, 2015, 01:11:00 pm »
i purchased a used walbro carb from ebay and decided to clean it up but when i tried to get the emulsion tube out it was super tight and it got stripped out. the motor runs fine. would you guys recommend drilling it out and replacing the emulsion tube, just leaving it in there,  or just getting a new carb all-together.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / need help setting up this motor for GP, USLMRA
« on: January 09, 2015, 12:16:49 pm »
i picked up a briggs model 31 ,avs version, 20hp,  plan on putting the motor on a mower i am building. This is my first year racing. But i have been reading a lot of negative things on the nikki carb.(which of course came on the motor i bought) I have been hearing a lot of good things about the Walbro. Can i replace the Nikki with a Walbro and if so what model/part #? i was also planning on stripping the motor down and checking the motor out before i continue with the motor. I know the motor runs but it flood....probably a carb issue. I am just ocd about motors and want to make sure everything is fine with it. I know the GP class the governed class, what legal modifications, if any, are allowed. Thank you guys.

Newcomers / races in Texas, LSLMRA
« on: January 08, 2015, 03:02:55 pm »
I am currently building a mower and I am 3/4 of the way done. i missed the race at Gun barrel city. I was able to make the Mesquite shoot out but I didn't get a chance to look at the mowers. I've looked online at the LSLMRA website and there isn't an upcoming race. Is there a race coming up? or when does the season start?

Chassis / newbie, motor location

I was wondering if I was allowed under USLMRA rules to center the motor on the frame because it's originally setup off center which is ok for weight distribution but a pain to work around. Can I move it slightly? Like an inch?

Post your Pics! / predator shifter kart
« on: May 14, 2014, 10:19:39 pm »
I built a predator engine from harbor freight, completely modified. Billet rod, flywheel racing cam, rockers, air filter and milled heads. This motor started out at 6.5 hp as it sits now..it easily does 50mph. This is what got me tinkering with small engines and led me to build a mower....that and the constant harassment from my father in law asking me when I was going to build one. I built the kart with the intention to race but I found the requisites to be a little extreme. Plus I would of had to build a new motor because I apparently started with the "wrong engine". Oh well handles like a dream and has great pick up.
