Driving up rt 81 north on my way home from work yesterday around 3pm I passed a white Chevy truck towing a Nissan truck that had a nice looking racing mower in it. The truck had South Dakota plates on it. I was just wondering if it was a heymower lol. I couldn't tell what kind of mower it was It was white and had a Three digit number on it. (529 i think). With mower racing being a dyeing breed in Central New York, It was kind of neat to see someone from so far away have a racing mower here.

Any Ideas as to who the mystery mower man could be?

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / different rockers for intek v twins

Ok so ive been searching around and seen something like what im looking for but nothing too definitive. Im looking to put roller rockers on my intek. I know EC, Rocket Ron, and Al Hodge all have rollers for the v twins. What im wondering is if anyone has experimented with trying to get a SBC roller in the head and what issues they have run into. I know that the Rockers i was looking at from COMP were 1.5 ratio... so that would be about the same as EC and everyone else. The issue being bulky?

So has anyone had success retrofitting different rollers into the head under the valve cover? Also if needed i can make spacers to gain clearance as needed.

Can anyone tell me the best way about shipping an engine? How are people boxing them and Who is the best carrier?

This here was a Craftsman at first. Put a weed eater hood on it. Had an opposed twin the only thing this had done to it was an offset key in the flywheel. Was lowered with a jackshaft set up with a six speed rear end with the axles welded together. Much like my current mower Mike Kieffer and I put it together.

On a 23 hp 44ci Intek, what would be the highest safe rpm i can get away running with stock rods. I know you have to get the 49ci rods (which if you buy a replacement rod from briggs is what they send you), which is beefier than the stock 44 rods. I found that out on an old thread on here but nothing was really mentioned about a safe RPM, i was also wondering the same thing about the stock rockers. It would only be for a couple races.

Any input would be great, thanks guys

Who sells the single valve springs for the 31ci single? I dont want doubles. The guy that built my motor is impossible to get ahold of so i need to go a different route to get new valve springs. Any help would be great.

I was wondering if the ARMA committee would consider a rule that would require people with "reflective heads" to wear hats when standing near the race track. a certain individual made my entrance into the corners Saturday kind of tough.I was blinded.  :lol: :lol: :lol:

How often are people chewing up ARC ring gears with the high torque starters? Im getting tired of having too open the hood and roll the motor back to start my engine with the stock starter. It for the first time cost me when my engine stalled when i went to avoid a mess ahead of me. I couldnt get back started right away and it cost me time

Chassis / MTD handling issues.... any input would be great

Ok guys, im running a Mod-X with an MTD box frame chassis. Im running a 33ci intek on it... The issue im having is that i cant seem to find a middle ground in handling. Either im bicycling in the corners or Im really loose, I cant seem to find a good middle ground where i can charge the corners and make it stick. I mean am able to run a comfortable line in the corners.... if im off the throttle big time. And it really showed this weekend at Mardela, I couldnt keep up with Kent Deeter's machine to save my life, and its all in the corners, I have the motor to run with the leaders but Kent I just cant seem to get through the corners like i need. I am a big guy though, (5'9" 265) maybe thats my whole problem??? What on the chassis, should i be looking for? Just looking for suggestions, not looking for people to give me their dirty little secrets lol!
