Briggs OHV & Vanguard / intek air filter adapter

I looked for info could not find any, what do you guys with the intek vtwin use for the filter adapter, without buying the EC stuff, on the vanguard it was easy to fab something , but the intek is new to me and looking for what out there before fabbing something

I have looked in old tread but i'm looking for update info on the aftermarket Denso style starter, i know the denso is the best option i have one and its working very good with no damage to the ring gear but i'm looking at the cheap aftermarket for a backup and for a friend engine  going on a vanguard

I have bought a few stock style plastic gear starter from EMS global on eBay around 40$ and they where very good and plastic gear was as good as the stock Briggs , lasted all season , so i'm wondering if the denso style they have is any good or is there a good suplier for those cheap aftermarket ...

i know some had succes with those aftermarket and if you want to share the info please let me know

I'm looking for a billet cam for a vanguard vtwin and its starting to get me mad... one well know grinder said he have something but the core is back order. weeks pass we call and said the suplier is out of buiness . we call the suplier to see if its is true this one is also well know here . he said i have one on the shelf ready to go all grinded and recommend a grind .. few week pass because i was extremely busy.. we call today and he said he do not sell grinded cams .???????? i was ready to send money lol .. and said to call 2 other grinder . one i contacted last year and do not work on lawn mower engine and the others also contacted last year do not have a billet cam ...

looking for info on all this you can pm me if you want to keep it private

Back in early april i called Mike at Precision cams for a billet cam for a vanguard , he said he was out of blank and they should be there soon, no problem there. fast foward last week i called him and he said the suplier have told him for 8 week it should ship next week, lol

Do someone know of another cam grinder who might have a billet cam for a vanguard ?

I know i should have ordered one back in january, but i changed my mind a few time

Honda and Clone Engines / New Honda GX630

The 3rd gen Honda vtwin Gx630-GX660-GX690 have been out for 2-3 years now, did someone try to run them or do some R&D.

Basic info it is a 90 degree vtwin, 42cid, hemi style combusion chamber, steel rod with bearing, forged crank shaft, Digital CDI ignition

I have done some research, it has some big problem with them.

-the head and cylinder is one piece, no head gasket, installing bigger valve may be impossible or bore them for more cubic inch

-the cam gear is plastic, so some kind of billet gear might be necessery, the cam do not use conventional lifter, its a rocker and the cam only have 2 lobe

-The Ignition is digital CDI, but they says it has a rev limiter build in, so if its like the others new engine its around 4000rpm, so others coil or electronic ignition need to be use

-Of course no billet flywheel for that engine , maybe one from another engine could fit...

More info would be nice, i have this in my head since i worked on a new generator using this engine this morning

Driveline / EC 700 pinion gear

Last week end i accidentally shifted and downshifted my EC 700 in a race and chipped a shift key, a gear and the sliding groove was damaged, but my big problem right now is the pinion gear broke a tooth, my question is, Can i use a imput shaft and gear from a true 700 or i realy need the EC pinion ?, i'm sure i cannot but i will ask first.



I guess for now its on the bench , because ordering from EC is extremely complicated for me

Hello everyone, my name is Guillaume I'm from Quebec Canada, yes french Canadian :D,  this winter i build this race mower after reading allot here on heymow and on the W.O.O. forum

its build using a MTD tunnel chassis , powered by a mild build 29cu Ryker Vanguard, most of the chassis parts are from Ryker

Its build to follow the rules of my local club CTGQ, (lawn mower racing club of Quebec) and its also supose to be legal for W.O.O. outlaws and ARMA supermod twin
