come on over to apple river this weekend august 23. we are having a race@ 6pm. our gp class has usually 8-10 tractors in it and you can get a good look@ some of the builds. we are located@ 301 west hickory street. about an hour from you.

i did say that wrong..the gxv taper is smaller...cuz when you put flywheel on engine it hit the block before it gets tight on the taper. there maybe a diffrence in model years tapers i would get ur mic out and measure beginining of and end of taper and the width of taper and call arc. im just trying to save you what i went thru... i ended up buying two jr dragster 5hp flywheels off of ebay and robbing flywheel magnets to make new wheels. yes.... im that dumb cuz i also run a gxv620 in the bp class

i bought a gx390 flywheel for a 2005 gxv390 3yrs ago and let me assure you, that did not fit my engine, the crank tapers are different. the gxvs have a larger taper than the gx so u cant even rebore hub. i ended up having a flywheel made.

cranks wont interchange. rods are the same length,but horizontal has dipper on it,vertical does not.vertical has two balance shafts,horiz. has one,vertical has oil pump drive on camshaft,horz.doesnt have oil pump.crank shaft tapers are diffrent between horz.and vertical also

depends on which 620 you have. the early blocks had 5 bolt cylinder heads and the later blocks used 4 bolt  and will interchange with the 670.

thanks guys! sorry wasnt meaning to sound like i had an attitude cuz i dont . i figured more people ran these an was a little frustrated @ no responses. again i apologize. think ill leave shafts in n see what happens. i had my billet fly wheel neutral balanced and will try that. might b good or i may have a expensive paint shaker! lol thanks again

apparently cuz im a newb no one will reply to my question. chuck you probably no that the gx& the gxv are diffrent critters. gx has one shaft& gxv has two. weight of shafts are twice that in gxv than the gx. so again i ask pitch them or leave them?

i had one made .keep pestering arc maybe they will see the interest in this engine and build one.they told me there wasnt enough interest in them a year ago for them to design one.

yes the 340 can be bored 2 fit 390 piston. and no the gx 390 billet fly wheel will not fit the v series engines as the crank taper on a gxv is smaller than the taper on the gx series.  build that engine. they are a torque monster is done correct.

k guys,havin 1 made ,wonderin if any body else was interested,have 3d cad drawing and going to machine shop mon.Talked to tom@arc on tuesday,and not enough interest in this motor to make one and it will cost $3000 for the first one but $250 after that.i cant afford the first one but if anybody else can please step up now and id love to help u out!i will keep every one posted on results and price because i will make this happen at a fair price

gxv hub is smaller id than gx.smallend of crankshast measures.900 large end of taper measures 1.150 i know they are metric but are there any other engines with similiar measurements that i could machine? all i run r hondas so i dont have any other engines lying around.

Does anybody know where or who is making billet flywheeels for these engines?I ordered one for a gx390 from arc and the ring gear is different as is the crankshaft taper .Chuck what did you use for a flywheel on yours years ago?I have every thing done to this motor to run 8000rpm.and figured the flywheel would be the easy part as most of the gx parts were interchangeable ,boy thats what i get for thinking.
