Title: King Pin Angle
Post by: s.jenkins on September 25, 2017, 11:38:11 am
I posted this in the drag mower section, but want to get as many opinions as I can.
Thanks for the indulgence.
Should the king pin on front axle be slanted towards the rear for a straight line racing mower?
I think my A/P is set at 12 degrees.
Any advantage in skinny tires on front for drag mower?

If you are meaning top towards the rear based off viewing from the side, that's caster.
And, yes, being that you would only be going straight, caster would be beneficial.
12 degrees is a bit extreme..many sports cars run roughly 6 degrees at the most.

Skinny tires offer less ground contact patch, in theory, would be less rolling resistance. In your case, I don't think it would hurt it.

Yes, I am talking about top towards the rear, and my EC Distributing axle was more like 10 degrees and not 12 as I posted. Thank you Redline
