. BTMRA and the AAMC it doesn't matter to us.
That's the way this class should be open w/o tire and wheel size limitations.

Absolutely!!!! I agree  maybe not be as extreme as karts but at least let us run different sized wheels with same size tires.

I went with a mini late model and love it. Its safer for an old man like me :D

They are definetly a lot SAFER!

Sorry Ron back to your thread now!!!

Oh you haven't stole it ;) you never know where the conversation will lead.

And no offense to the Mini late model guys but they do kinda look like a Carnival ride  besides that why would you build a chassis like that and not use a horizontal shaft engine ? Or run racing tires?  I mean they aren't remotely close to a lawn mower.

Tires / Wide or Narrow????
« on: December 13, 2013, 12:02:32 pm »
Ok.... If I use  the wider wheel and tire  combination , how do I determine how wide  of tire I need?  Is there a way to figure this out or do you just put the biggest tire you can fit?

Oh yea I am not going to be running a prepared  chassis been there done that.....it will be a supermod of some sorts

I am not trying to make a decision  right now, I am trying to learn the theory behind  deciding tire and wheel combos.....

I have been researching the whys and why nots on different tire and wheel combinations  and  I know lawn mowers have to run the same size wheel and tire on each axle  while the wider right front would be better, I wonder if the wider left front tire would be hindering  the weight transfer on turn in

Ok so if I understand what your saying the wider stance will not push as hard on the right front so you need more of a contact patch to help with front grip at turn in?
So is it safe to say that this is same on the rear but more for grip thru the middle and exit of the turn?

Tires / Wide or Narrow????

I understand the supermods  are carrying more speed on entry and on the exit of the corner but how or why is a wider tire and wheel more advantageous than the narrower wheel & tire combination.

I guess I am trying to understand the theory behind the use of wide or narrow wheel & tire combinations.😉

Why  do you think the super mods need more right front grip vs the prepared chassis?

Lets hear it!

Do you run wide front and rear wheels and tires?  If so, could you explain why?

Do you run Narrower front and rear wheels and tires? If so, could you explain why?

I have heard or read a lot of different opinions and was interested in what ya'll had to input.

I am looking more for information related to handling of your mowchine.

It looks like there isn't any difference between them at all.... The bore seems to be the only thing I see.... Except one is Japanese and the other is Chinese . I have read that the clone carbs have a bigger bore than the Hondas

Hey you can't blame a man for trying!

I know there are some differences in between the real Hondas and the clones, I am just trying to figure out what all of them are.
