Title: REBELS AND REDNECKS UNITED MOWER RACERS in NC
Post by: camarolynn73 on January 24, 2012, 12:11:59 pm
Anyone interested in running with a new lawn mower group in NC, please contact me (Lynn Milstead) to see how many drivers will be starting up. I for one will be racing with them and my group (Highside Racing Crew) More Info and tracks we will be racing on, will come later. I have raced with allot of people in this new group and have really enjoyed the fairness and diversity of the mowers they have. This is an independent group with their on rules. There will be a class for everyone too race, including the ladies.

Here is what is going on. http://www.imr09.com/  Is an independent group, rules are on the website. LOTS of rule changes were implemented by the board. The board is made up with several members from one racing group, that can out vote the others. There are 2 owners, one agrees with the racing group and the other owner does not feel the new rules are in the best interest for ALL the racers, so they are breaking ties and a new organization is just being started up with many racers from IMR coming along. (This is not hear say, I attended the board meeting) They have just decided to start a new organization this week so as far as what track or tracks we will racing at has not been determined but they should be within an hour drive north or south of Taylorsville. I will update this post when I know what tracks we will be at and the schedule. The rules on the IMR website are the rules we have used in the past and should be close, if not the same. The new rule changes that were implemented in, are not on the website at this time. My mower I have raced with IMR, is ARMA legal, with the exception I have a motorcycle carb. That is going to change as I plan on racing with an ARMA group on the off day races of REBELS AND REDNECKS UNITED MOWER RACERS . At this point we are seeing what the interest would be in racers trying a new group. If you have more questions, PM me at I'll answer any you have. I'm not here to speak bad of anyone with IMR or some of the board members, just trying to let everyone understand  why the new organization is being started. REBELS AND REDNECKS UNITED MOWER RACERS  will be owned and ran by Pam Sizemore, the founder of IMR, and I can tell you this lady is very smart, fair, knows how to run a racing group, and truly listens to what ALL the drivers want. Last year, on the first race of the season we had over 100 mowers show up. We put on a big show in Galax VA. She truly wants to run an organization for the racers, and this is why she is starting REBELS AND REDNECKS UNITED MOWER RACERS, if you run a $100 stock mower you got out of a junk yard, she treats you just the same as a $8000 built V twin. I've raced with many other groups, and liked them all, but I stayed with IMR because Pam runs clean races,  treats us all the same, we get too visit many different tracks and helps charities. Her organization is non-profit and 100% for family fun.
