just the flywheel side case bearing size will differ....that number is for the large journal (late model) block.

I use Briggs part #842602 for the late model Horizontal 38ci block. The matching dual roller bearing side cover is part #844588

According to http://search.cartserver.com/search/odstorecgi.cgi?cartid=a-8671&category=Briggs_and_Stratton_Parts&maxhits=6&keywords=842602&go=Search%21
842684(new number) is the same as 842602(old number)

Yea Briggs likes to changes numbers around and alter castings slightly. I still try to use the older numbers on everything if possible, and find one in a warehouse somewhere. The newer block castings are lower quality material, making the metal weaker.
