Title: Put a Sleeve in a Kool-bore Briggs engine?
Post by: laurw1 on December 09, 2018, 02:21:40 pm
Hey so I have a 25 Cubic inch horizontal briggs engine, it is a kool-bore, meaning the cylinder walls are aluminum, no cast ieon cylinder sleeve. Briggs never made a 25CI or 28CI horizontal briggs with a cast iron cylinder sleeve, but they made vertical engines that had them. Now heres the question, can i put a sleeve in this engine? Ive heard about people putting sleeves in their kool-bore engines, but I would like some advice about what machining I will have to do, where I would get the sleeve, etc.

As long as theirs enough material in the block you should be able to sleeve it
