Cutting racing costs in Super modified class Part! dealt with NEW SMALL INEXPESIVE, RELIABLE, TURBOcharging kits made for 600-1000cc engines. 500$ cost all inclusive + porting & regrind cam 100hp @ 5000 RPM , MUCH Cheaper than current normally asperated briggs/Kohler V-twin set up .
Example of 100hp new small turbo kitted engine set up :
1 STOCK Briggs 20hp v-twin = 1000$
2 Camshaft regrind = 200$
3 Forged pistons = 300$
4 Billet aluminum forged rods = 230$ Includes bearings
5 Copper head gaskets = 40$
6 New Small/mini Turbo kit = 500$ All Inclusive =oil pump, oil cooler, fittings, lines , boost gauge
7,port heads ? = 100$
8 VM 34mm mikuni new ebay =100$
9 Mini sponge air filter = 10$
10 rubber carb boot to turbo = 10$
TOTAL 1990$ SUPER MODIFIED 700-750cc BRIGGS V-TWIN RACE ENGINE 100hp @ 5500 RPM 15LBS BOOST
USING 35 HP 993cc BRIGGS VANGUARD V-TWIN ADD roughly 500$ =2690$ using 10-12 lbs boost 100hp@5000 RPM more Displacement lower RPM = even more reliable AND turbocharging adds torque.
Even if you add anouther 500$ for special digital dakota head temp guages(trail tech makes same 30$)
still ???? WAY cheaper 1/2 price of traditional normally asperated set up.
Trying large displacement flathead set up this summer .
NEW small MINI turbos work MUCH better than the T-3 units (designed for autos ) spool from idle up. linear power band =no lag

..I have noticed ..CHANGE/NEW THINKING IS SACRILIGIOUS but not trying to re invent the wheel , just make the wheel CHEAPER and actually more reliable from Lower rpm .

ALLOW THE USE OF STOCK BRIGGS 35HP/993cc V-TWIN AND KOHLERS 38-40HP CH1000 1000cc V-TWIN. 2.ALLOW THE USE OF SIMPLE 38MM-40MM MIKUNI CARBURATORS THEY COST ONLY 50-60$ NEW ON EBAY..SIMPLE CHEAP SET UPS TO HELP SPORT BECOME MORE AFFORDABLE IN THESE TOUGH TIMES........HAVING TO TAKE 20-23 HP V-TWINS THEN BORE CYLINDERS.BUY INSTALL HIGH RPM PUSH RODS, ROLLER ROCKERS,STROKER CRANK RODS, HIGH LIFT CAMS , RACE STAINLESS STEEL OR TITANIUM VALES WORK HEADS ECT ECT .
I am 48 years old semi retired and fairly well off some would say. So I can afford a total works race engine . But I CAN REMEMBER BEING SO POOR I WAITED FOR SOMEONE TO BREAK IN MY HOUSE ...SO I COULD MUG THEM... LOL 2 BASIC COMMON SENCE RULES WOULD MAKE IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY THE SPORT .
