No matter how many times someone picks on you in fun or your opposed engines, you always take it with style. You never get upset, or at least we don't know. Lol. Just letting you know I notice it. Thanks.

Coffee Shop / Where am I?
« on: March 13, 2012, 09:46:48 pm »
This is not for an ego trip. I just want to evaluate where I am to see what changes I need to make..... How do you perceive me? Am I an encouragement to you or not? Has something I have said or done helped you think differently about a situation or circumstance it your on life either on here or in person? Inbox messages are fine. If I have influenced you in a negative way I would like to hear that also but please be gentle and say it with love :-). Thank you.

Coffee Shop / The reason I started racing mowers
« on: November 21, 2010, 09:09:02 pm »
I am not posting this for sympathy or to point fingers but to let you guys know why I came into the picture of mower racing...

Four years ago this January I had a tragedy in my life. My marriage dissolved that involved three kids, a step son(wife's son), and my two young ones. Although I was and am strong in my faith in Christ Jesus (not sinless but know where to receive forgiveness) it crushed me to know that I wouldn't be able to come home each day and see my kids and be closely involved in their lives. So I needed something to occupy the time that I spent with them. You see I didn't just take up space at home, I tried to be a Spiritual leader, husband, and father. When work was over I came straight home and spent time with my family not because I felt like I had to but because I wanted to.

Anyway, about the time this happened I heard of a mower racing club/track opening and checked into it.

I told the Lord I would use this mower racing to build relationships with people and glorify Him. You see, I was racing Karts at the age of 13 and raced them for 12 years. I ate, drank, and slept Kart racing. In other words, I worshipped it and allowed it to control my life. But I received Christ Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and soon realized what I was doing so I stopped racing altogether. It had been 10 years since I had raced anything or had a desire to.

I didn't have extra money for obvious reasons and still don't but they had a stock class and my dad had a couple of junk mowers so I took them and built one that would run. In 4 years, I have had the privilege to move up and run the BP/super sportsman class with some of the fastest guys in mower racing.

Since that time God has allowed me to build several several friendships, pray with people at venues, and just plain enjoy life. Again I am not perfect and still make mistakes. I love for people to see a person can be a Christian and still enjoy life.

Thank you Father for the many opportunities you give us as followers of Jesus to glorify You.

I want to thank the people that have sent PM's encouraging me... :)

That's just a glimpse of my story. So tell me your story... How did you get started racing? This thread is your opportunity....

Coffee Shop / Good News
« on: May 17, 2010, 08:29:51 pm »
When I started racing mowers 3 years ago I told God I would use it to minister to people for His glory. I am not perfect, if I was the I wouldn't need Christ Jesus to save me. But I have been given the opportunity write the prayer corner in Mowmentum. And now I have been given the opportunity this Wednesday night to display my mower and minister at a church outing. Please pray that I will represent my Lord and Savior well and also lawn mower racing.

Thanks and God bless, Brian

Driveline / Throttle linkage help
« on: November 19, 2009, 05:00:01 pm »
I am re-doing my throttle on mower. I have a Dietech Dirty Harry throttle lever. I would like full movement on lever to match full movement on carbaretor. How do I calculate the length of linkage from butterfly shaft to throttle cable? Thanks
