Safety.  The stock flywheel is designed to spin at stock RPM's.   Any faster and you run the risk of it exploding. 

With a better carb it will spin much faster than stock.

Disregard solenoid.  Wire direct to positive battery post.  Or attach wire to solenoid post coming from the positive battery post.

Is it required to replace the flywheel on a vanguard 16hp twin to remove the governor?  I'm not going to be revving it massively high it's just to put a different carb on it.  If so what would the effects be on keeping it stock?  Thanks

Hi all
Been into doing mowers up for some time now as I'm 16 and have been working on weekends for some years.  I've managed to scrape around and getting my first mower this weekend - a countax k14T.  As for intelligence Irent my own workshop where I repair and restore small engines and machinery so will be more than happy to help with eny issues.
I haven't really seen mower racing in the UK as much but plenty of tracks around the place for trials.

I want to switch from 6 inch to 8 inch  wheels at the track without removing rear hub. Anyone know of such an adaptor ? Thank you.

I am from New Zealand down under and i am looking for some information regarding the types of track surfaces you guys run on. We have a bit of land that has a track on it and have rolled and smoothed it out. We water during the day but still it seems to rut up pretty bad at the end of the day.

Do you guys have the same problems and just re roll and level or do you use clay like speedway tracks. or maybe somthing else.

We want to try and get a good surface to race on and i guess sombody on here has found the best way to prepare and maintain your tracks.

55 would probably be the happy medium between top speed and acceleration. You could end up at about 56 with a 5 to 5 on the bottom. A 10 tooth on the gearbox and the 48 in the rear. Using as lightweight components on the drivetrain will help with acceleration.
