Is there a brake pad in the Transaxle .is there any way to upgrade the transaxle brake so i dont have to figure out a aftermarket setup
-
No way to really up grade factory brakes to make them work for mower racing. There a lot of ways to set up a brake to a transaxle. Look in the build section to see the way to do it. I would not trust the factory brakes at all on a race mower.

Thinkn small four wheeler hubs for front
-
Still need good rear brakes.
FYI axle mounted brakes are required to race.
-
Not planning on racing its just somethin fun to keep busy and play in the clay.i dont see a way to get a disc or anything on the transaxle
-
There are sites out there for mudders.
-
Not a mudder there's just nothin but clay down here.I checked out the off road sites. The only one I felt had anything to offer was really rude to it's members.they had a few sections dedicated to making fun and insulting members they didn't agree with

If interested in a small band brake system bmikarts.com has a 4" band brake and drum that mounts on their mini hub(fits a 3/4" axle). may have to cut a key way. It will run you about $45. Better yet could convert that trans into a posi. basically running a 3/4" gokart axle straight through. :woo:
-
What do u mean? Running a kart axle thru the tranaxle or removing the trans and doin the r.a.g.b and axle
-
You can pull the axles out of the transaxle. Replace pin and spider gears from inside bull gear with a keyed hub. Works slick ! Been racing one for a season and a half no problems.
-
Are u still able to shift thru gears? Is there any videos or detailed articles about it ? I understand way better with visual.
-
I know how the transaxle works but can't name Wat parts what beyond the basic.but what I'm gettin is that this will make a real nice diff lock
-
Still fully shiftable. I sent you a PM.
-
Ever try putting in a extra spider gear to lock it? I was on the net researching and seen were they put one and sometimes two extra spider gears in between the axles and it locks up.I'm wonderin if this is safe.

I started making 3/4" to 1-1/4" adapters after not being able to find some online. These would fit your 3/4" axle and allow you to run an 1-1/4" gokart style disk brake hub. They are 3/4" ID with 3/16" key way and have a 1-1/4" OD with 1/4" key way. They work great with the Doc Locker system if you have an axle with a full key way. Other wise if you want to run your stock axles you can buy 3/4" to 1" or 1-1/4" adapters with 1/4" key ways cut. You just have to weld them onto your current axle wherever you'd like your brake disk. I've seen them done both ways.
