Is the vent new? If it's not new the take it off and wash it out good with gas this should fix your problem. I've had to do many mowers this way because the vent/ filter gets dirty or stopped up give it a try it can't hurt. Jesse

Has anyone heard of these or raced with one. It's a 19 horsepower single cylinder twin cam engine, if anyone's interested I can get the engine but it's locked up let me know about this weird motor

Thanks for the help but I'm thinking of putting the solenoid for the carb on a on/off flip switch and I got the rest figured out after talking to a guy who knows how to wire a mower engine.

Play mowers aren't really welcome here, but if it's built safe and by the rules it shouldn't be a problem, I think the rat rod idea is cool as. Am building a rat rod mower also,  anyways have fun and be safe

Going up on the transmission will make it even worse. You cannot go any lower as 8 is the smallest available. SO you must go up on axle or change the pulley ratio. Most run a 8 on motor and 5 on trans and never change that. Then start with a 12 on trans and 46 or 48 on axle.
Thanks for the info, Im also thinking of swapping my motor as its an 8 horse I think a 12 horse will help the problem after all it cant get any worse I hope! Thanks George for the help. Jesse

Ok so I just swapped my engine pulley im now running a 6 on the motor and 3 on tranny, My tranny sprocket is an 8 tooth and the rear axle sprocket is 44 teeth so heres where im having problems my mower is wicked fast but in third gear the motor bogs down I can disengage the clutch and rev the motor and engage the clutch and it works fine so heres my question what size tranny sprocket should I be using im thinking maybe 10-12 tooth any help will be greatly appreciated as always thanks, Jesse

Coffee Shop / Re: ISO someone to build 7/8 hub for brake rotor
« on: August 07, 2014, 06:04:13 pm »
Are you sure they aren't 3/4 axles all the trans axles I've seen are besides the 820. You need to buy the 11/4 brake hub and then get the 3/4 reducer bushing from bmi karts that's what I did when I used to run them also you can check out there mechanical brake caliper they are cheap but work great used to run one of those also. Then you could just use the washers to space it like you need it
Well the mower is running a 700 tranny with a straight axle I used a digital caliper to measure it and the axle is 7/8 OD, The brakes I'm going to we is off a small 90 cc four wheeler but I'm held up at this time trying to find a way to setup my rotor

On I'm building my brother a rat rod mower I'm trying to cut corners on the build cost so I'm using as many stock parts such as the axle which is 7/8. Ok so I need someone who an build me a hub for my brake rotor to fit the 7/8 axle as don't currently have a welder and there is no welding shops locally for me to turn to. The bolt pattern on the rotor is 2 3/4 on 4. Like. Said I'm on a budget for this project but I will pay for the materials and labor so f anyone can help me here PM me thanks, Jesse

I guess the carb I haven't looked at but will next week because he always lets me work on it instead of sending it to the shop.
Start the mower up let it warm up a bit pull the air filter, There is a small rubber hose the size of a dime if that is spraying oil you need to clean or replace the blow by filter I always clean them with gasoline and they work like new hope this help, Jesse

Sounds like the blow by filter is dirty it should stop if you take that filter off and wash it out good with gasoline, I've had several mowers that would do the same thing wash that filter and I was good to go
