Coffee Shop / Re: New phone ?
« on: March 24, 2014, 01:00:44 am »
Personally I'm pretty hard on phones, my blackberry I had before you iPhone 4S was always toast. In 2 years through the warranty literally had about 10 of them. I even tore up some of the Nextel flip phones    None the less, my iPhone 4S was about 14 months old before the phone speaker got to the point of being too weak to hear anything out of. Other than that, no issues. It has been in an otterbox from day 1. It's always hangin one hip for everything...mechanic work, fabrication, on the ground. Dropped from the top of the ladder. And it comes back for more. Cool part about the iPhone is they are really all one in The same. When a new system update is released, you download it the same as you would for an ipod. And you have the latest and greatest. Only real difference is between the 4s & older phones to the iPhone 5 is camera quality and the 5 takes a totally different charging plug than all the other apple phones and iPods.

Chassis / Re: Rear axle Question for Prepared Class (CP)
« on: March 11, 2014, 01:02:48 pm »
I don't see any reason as to why it would be deemed illegal as long as yu keep the wheelbase and mentioned and do not have working suspension. The only thing I would not like if I were in your shows is the weight of the axle itself. Their solid and heavier than a tube axle. Every building width adjustment or ride height adjustment would be out of the box thinking but definately doable off of the beaten path!! If your carrier bearing is set up like a honda 250r then you would even be able to adjust your chain without having an idler sprocket and still be quickly adjustable for gear changes at the track

post a picture of the tin work and Ill do my best to help ya. Not the shroud that's missing as they are all the same. But Im more interested in seeing the sheet metal that goes on and wraps around the head. On an ohv Command single you basically have two motors. Same bore, different strokes.

I like the Ingersoll 2135 titaniums myself as well. Light weight and nasty!

If you decide to go electric again, I just bought a Milwaukee Brushless Lithium Ion piece...same specs as my IR 2135 and I will say, numbers are legit! Battery life is surprising not bad either.

Driveline / Re: peerless 400 input shaft
« on: January 18, 2014, 10:24:37 am »
All the 600 stuff I stumbled across was already 5/8" and the key slot down towards the bottom. You could just run a sealed bottom bearing and your input shaft will work

You probably wont find any new Peerless parts out there for these things. The "long" input shafts I alwaysa had a hold of were only an 1/8" longer, so really not worth messing with...I always added snap ring grooves to a 350 shaft or robbed one from a 600 depending on what bottom bearing/seal combo I was using.

Doesn't sound like a good ordeal, I know that one of the Cromwell boys runs the machine shop as a full time job (at least they used to). Personally hadn't heard of him doing anything like tht before. You say it's 4 hours, I'd drive that just to magically show up on someone's doorstep to get what I paid for or stomp somebody, one of the two

.1 makes it illegal ?    :bash:

The 17.5 horse part makes it legal. He didn't mention cubes in the rule

With what ya have, you'll never bend it hauling mowers and your 2x2 square definately isn't going anywhere. I would weld a cross brace on each side of the 2x2 connecting your angle pieces. And that would just be to hold a piece of plywood to and not allow it to sag

Back pressure can be tuned by many things. Pipe size, primary lengths, collector design etc. Air flow likes round ports. Hence why all the wicked cylinder heads on the market are "oval port" style versus the "rectangle ports" commonly found on a lot of the older muscle car engines etc

Chassis / Re: another pitman arm question
« on: November 30, 2013, 12:57:44 am »
I set my steering arms on the spindles at the right angle to get the proper Ackerman for my wheelbase. With a center pivot piece mounted as close to the axle centerline as possible. It is usually 90 square to the axle beam. Then on the steering shaft, with the wheels pointed straight, I rotate the pitman arm 30-45 degrees forward. Also build some steering stops into your spindles to keep it all from camming over past center. Once all that is set, I weld my steering quick disconnect hub on last with the wheel set where I want it
