So you want to race a mower? You did not put in your profile what part of the world you are located in. Attend a build clinic, or if you live near someone, odds are that they will talk in great depth about their mowers and how to build them.

You need rules. You dont know how to build it untill you have a set of rules to build it by. Read this. http://www.heymow.com/index.php?topic=670.0

well im not to sure of anywhere to race around me in MS. so i jus want to build one to go fast threw the low end i have the need for speed big fan of drag racing. dont know of many mowers around my area, i live way out on a little back road neighbor hood and have plenty of places to ride it out here. i jus need to know what yall would do if you were just building one to go a desent speed with out spending alot of money and have fun on.
if it runs good we have some 1/8 and quarter mile drag stripes around me but i dont think i will be fast enough on this mower to take it out there i would like to stay on belt drive if anyway possible

and if i can give you any info on my mower to help you give me info on what to do i will be glade to
thanx guys for the help

You cannot build anything to go fast saflry without spending money. First thing you do is strip it to the bare frame then start over building a purpose built chassis for raciing. Mowers are not toys. They are desiogned for 8mph. Anything more than that requires extentive rebuilding. Look in the build section there are plenty of how to threads with photos.

Hmm... To be safe you have to spend money just swapping the pulleys is a horrible idea... Im suprised this thread isn't already locked after u admitted to not want to do any work, or spend money, and wanting to ride it like a four wheeler.
