just ordered the MWSC 6000 cast cam kit , rods and flat top pistons , rpms ?- this is my first open engine 6000-7500 rpm ?.
Head work -- pretty much will be an amateur job just cleaning up the ports ,  nothing like the port work you do micheal.

Would a single 42mm Mikuni HSR flat slide be ok or too big for a command twin 44ci with a cam and port job?
Or would two smaller flat slides like Keihin fcr be best . Not sure which direction to take .

Kohler Engines / Re: ARC kohler flywheel gear

Yes I figured I needed the diode harness.

Are the stock hydraulic lifters good on a stock non-governed engine or swap them out for solid lifters and adjustable rockers ?

No issues , just pulled the trigger on a new flywheel for the command twin , just wanted to know if they have issues with the teeth being aluminum and starter teeth being steel .

Other Engines / Billet flywheel for kawasaki FH661?
« on: August 15, 2018, 02:20:27 pm »
Is there a way to attach an ARC flywheel to a Kawasaki FH661V by either machining the crank taper or getting the flywheel hub taper machined?

Say if money was no object?

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Vanguard 14 carb vent leaking
« on: September 16, 2017, 08:31:59 pm »
I see when I am racing fuel is coming out the carb vent , I installed a peice of tygon fuel line to the vent , but it caused some sort of vapour lock and the engine starved for fuel.

So I removed it and ran all day with a little fuel leaking out .
Need and seat are good. Running a fuel pump and engine is stock.

Driveline / Peerless 700-770
« on: March 23, 2017, 09:10:55 pm »
Building my first race mower , question is my peerless 700 does not look like the one in the peerless 700 race prep " thread .
The bushings are all open on the sides which seems to me it won't seal up well .

Also it did not have an o-ring under the gear on the input shaft but had an o-ring under the pulley side acting as a grease seal.

Do I need to find a different model 700 or will this one do?
