what you want is older 35ci piston , they are much better quality and the ring land is further from the top, we usualy cut 0.100 and it get -0.010 bellow deck with the arc long rod

For the most parts mower racing is down i think, but the Forum media is prety much dead, use to go to 4-5 quad racing forum all dead now, its facebook now and its crap, the only info you see is clown doing clown thing with mower, the real die hard racer have no time for that :censored: and wont post much.

Here the club been active 15 years and its up and down , almost always the same mower count but this year seems like many new racer are being build and should be a good year, considering building something here cost 25-50% more its still good.

On a side note i use to come here on tapatalk on my phone, it wont work now so i only check here every few weeks

what is the actual compression ratio. 12:1 - 13:1. its on the limit for 91. but if you want a safety margin you could mix a little 110.  do not run pure 110 without very high compression.

yea but ec spring are only 40lb new without shim. and 38lb after a few race . stock 23hp steel valve cheatah cam float at 8k

On my stuff i use something else for spring, biller cam and  titanium valve so this is not a issue at all

well unless you want to only turn it to less than 6000rpm . you will need heavy dual spring. you wont strip or break a stud in a vanguard unless you have clearance problem . even the ec dual spring float at 8k ...

why a single spring. stock engine . mild or wild .

cheaper way is the ec kit. good for mild engine. you could use only the outter if the engine is mostly stock

I dont understand so much fear of the stock flywheel. 100% stock engine if the governor fail will rev to 4-5000 rpm before floating the valve i would guess Briggs build them with a safety margin or it would be a major liability for them... problem is dumb people trying to make them lighter. i'm sure there was never a issue with 100% stock ...

I'm going to guess this tread was never about racing lawn mower since we dont need charging system.... and the build was done wrong from the begining cheatah cam as a peak power at 6500. and there you need a billet arc flywheel for sure and  billet rod or you will pick parts outside the engine .

sould be easy to weld for a good welder. problem is since its on top of the sleeve there good chance the cylinder will move. might need to rebore after welding

What kind of mikuni round slide. did you buy them new or they are used from a 2 stroke. because those will never work without major work ...

If they are made for 4 stroke they should work just fine once tuned . but dont expect snappy trottle response from those .

not a fan of those tillotson everyone seem to love for some reason...

on my stuff  i use keihin FCR . those are the best carb ever made for powersport .
