So i am looking at two engines for my build.. first is a 20hp intek single cylinder for $100 the other is a 23hp twin cylinder intek for $250..

Right now, im kinda leaning toward the 20 horse.

Well the one pictured was sold, but the guy said he has another and will take no less then 250 cash... im not sure i want to pay that much but they darn sure do look cool... time to start raiding barns i guess, lol.

You would have to pull motor down and see what's left inside any good. Most likely looking for another motor.
My buddy built two of those craftsmans and turned out pretty nice , just a little heavy.

I guess im unaware of how yall setup the drive trains on these... there are no races close to me anytime soon so actually gettingto look at some isnt really feasable...

I was thinking just doing a horizontal crank engine and chain drive... but im guessing i cant?

Ayone wanna post pics of how to go about this... i just looked at the mower and i am picking it up on sunday. It has a 20horse briggs on it but its locked up. Idk if its worth trying to rebuild or no?

Out of curiosity... do any of the classes allow a horizontal crank motor?
