Thanks for the help coming in on the gearing still not really sure on which way to go for starting point.
And would the 5" pulley on motor and gear box be to much for it being 1:1 to the gearbox as far as gearbox rpm.
And as far as the rear sprockets if it makes it easier or any difference I can get diff rear sprockets those  are just some I have.
Thanks!!

new to the forum but have looking around on here for awhile now so I thought why not join the crew. I'm also new to the mower building scene.
I am starting from what was a working john deere 108. so for the build consist of E.C. front axle kit and their aluminum belt clutch, 1 1/4 axle with racing go kart disc brake,
peerless 1:1 ragb, briggs 44, douglas aluminum wheels, rear tires are 16/7.5/8 and fronts are 13/5/6. this is something that I'm not actually going to race just building for fun.
but I need a little help/ guidance.

for the motor: its a briggs 44 .020 over
arc rods, arc flywheel, new heads with a little work, dual valve springs keepers and retainers with inner springs removed, precisions 3030 cam (I guess its like the little brother to the cheetah cam),
precisions vortex carburetor for a twin. E.C. aluminum carburetor filter adapter kit and filter.

one of the biggest things I need help with is gearing as I just don't really get it.
so it is going to be pulley on engine to pulley on ragb, sprocket out of ragb to rear sprocket. chain for the rear is #40 I have 44,46,48 tooth rear sprockets from E.C. already don't know if any of them will work.

THANKS!!
