Honda and Clone Engines / Timing gear on clone crank
« on: April 28, 2015, 01:16:58 pm »
Can anyone tell me how the timing gear is attached to the crank on a clone?  Is it pressed on? held by a key? any way for it to move?  I have three different clone cranks with the timing marks in three different positions in relation to the flywheel keyway of the crank.  Thanks.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / pushrods 44 intek
« on: March 28, 2010, 10:35:40 pm »
Well last weekend at Macon, I took three mowers.  Two ran pretty decent, but the BP broke before I could get it on the track.  All FOUR steel push rods got bent.  Question is has anyone had this happen before and what are the possible causes??  Last was set at .004 intake and exhaust.  Heads are shaved .050, EC alum roller rockers, dual valve springs with billet retainers, and new head gaskets.  Rpms probably not over 6000 because return springs would not let it open fully.  Comments appreciated.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Vanguard v twin

Hey all,

Quick question on the 29 series vtwin (14hp).  I just received the longer rods and test fitted them in the block with pistons and crank to check how much to mill off the pistons.

My problem is that the crank end of the rod doesn't clear the bottom of the cylinder wall. The cap and head of the cap bolt doesn't clear the opposing cylinder wall.

Any one else encounter this problem in the past and what was your solution?

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / intek cam
« on: February 02, 2008, 10:48:06 pm »
Does anybody know if the cams from precision for the intek series "44"
have the end drilled for the oil pump rod?  I have one on the way and just considered that it would.  It would be a shame to send it back as soon as it comes in for more machine work, might delay my build a little.

Thanks,

Kenny
