Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 20hp intek twin

Just wondering if there was a bigger carb that will fit the 20 hp intek twin and manifold? Our local rules state that we have to keep stock parts on the mower but we are allowed a bigger carb as long as they came off of another mower motor..

its just straight headers. One pipe coming off each cylinder. The gaskets probably are not in the best shape.

Trying to figure out what to expect when i put this fresh build on the track.. How many rpms can i expect from the motor after i remove the govener? the track will have a 150-200 ft straight stretch.. From what i gathered from the site... running a peerless 700 running in the 1:1 gear.. 15" tires 8 on the motor 6 on the trans 12t to a 48t.. will this get me close?

Hey all Just seeing if anyone has any advice on setup of this build..Not alot of rules i have to follow besides the frame has to sit 6" off the ground, 38" wheelbase, 20hp max manufature displacement with no mods, shiftable transmission, 6" wheels in the front and 8" in the back, must have something that resembles a mower deck. The mower is an older rugg. I have a new 20hp briggs intek twin. peerless 700 tranny, 1 1/4" live axle with  a mcp brake setup. 15" turfs on the back and 13" on the front. the tracks that it will see will mostly be ovals that have 150' straights.  i setup the front axle with 10 degrees tilt in and 8 degrees back. front wheelbase is 38" and the rear is 37", front axle to rear is 40 1/2". i have not figured out what pulleys or sprocket sizes any suggestions?... I am going to use a handlebar setup with a thumb throttle. I have not decided  whether i should use a hand or foot brake. Clutch setup will be a t style using 4" pulleys with the clutch pedal being on the right side of the mower. Any advice would help!

Hey guys. I am currently building a fx style mower for local races. The rules state that you can have up to a stock 20hp motor and no mods done underneath the tin of the motor. The only thing you can do is take the govener off. I am buying a new briggs 20hp intek twin and was searching for advice/help for taking the govener off... Is it as simple as taking the sump off and taking all the components out and sealing up the hole? any precautions i should take as in adjusting valves or timing?
