 stripped it out , the thrust bearing is fine , plates looks ok,  is there a measurement for the friction plates ?
its a 4 plate clutch  not 6 , sorry my mistake

Tried the mower out tonight , standard 16hp b&s  vtwin , vertical shaft , but the gearing was way to high , the clutch was glowing red after about 5 mins running it , do they normally get hot like this , or have I damaged it ?

can anyone help , im putting the 4 plate clutch onto the shaft , and i can t figure out how to lock it in the position i want on the shaft ??, the clutch came to me with no instructions ???? :doh:

I am wanting to move the oil filter and housing away from the block and remote mount it  (about 5"back) ? the reason behind it , is of space , as the header would foul it .    has anyone done this ? or can anyone see a problem :worried: ? , cheers

 i was led to believe it was an 18hp ? can some one confirm this , cheers steve

would the length of the header cause running problems ? do briggs v twins really on back pressure to run ?  also is methanol an alternitave ? , sorry to be a bit vague , but , like i said , im new to this and keen to learn from you guys

got a similar clutch coming myself from EC , you can machine off the standard sprocket and adapt it to take your own sprocket, thats what carrol from EC recommended,  hope this helps
