Thanks that helps alot cause one of my coworkers is trying to tell me that what I have is a miss labeled engine. So I actually know that he is full of crap and there really is a 14 hp that is 42 cubes with a pressureized oil system.

That is interesting cause the motor that I have has tins on it that say it is a 14 but the first number in the serial number is 42 and the last three numbers are 777 so is it just a 18 that has 14 tins on it?

Sweet cause my friends and I are gonna build two mowers apiece between all of us and there is five of us and I plan on building three or four. I wish I would have thought about selling them sooner but I already promised my friends most of them to build theres with.

I recently purchased 14 mowers from an old small engines repair shop for $140 bucks $10 bucks a mower. They are all old craftsmans that are pretty small but they all have. Peerless 400 series transmissions in them. I have taken all of the transmissions out and cleaned them and all of them are the same 401A or 400 model numbers. I just want to know if I bought something that was a good investment.

I run a gas pedal made out of a heavy duty door hinge and a break on the right side and
my clutch on the left side just like a car. It takes alittle figuring out to get it right but I like
it alot and it works for me.

I am not sure if these guys have much experience with the 2000 series of spicer transaxles but I run one on
my mower and I am running a 14 hp kohler that puts out about 35 hp and I have had good luck with it and the
only thing that I have had break on it is the shift keys and I have been racing with it for three years now. But I
also race a mower with a Peerless 350 transmission with a few modifications and that has been a bullet proof setup.

Yes that is exactly what I have been looking for Thank You very much. Do they also have a
parts diagram for a 600 series transaxle and a 350 transmission?

Driveline / Re: Dynamark: Hard to shift when running

Something I learned from racing is that if you weld an arm with some rubber on it to the clutch
that makes contact with the pulley on the trans to stop the pulley it makes it shift easier to shift
while it is running.

Does anyone know where I can find a parts diagram for a Peerless 400 transmission on the web that has parts numbers listed on it.
Thank You for your help if you can.
