Well im new to your forum but im not with making lawnmowers go fast, Im am starting to build a racing mower and need help with how to lower it, I don't want to lower it much just about 2 1/2 inches or so to prevent it from being top heavy. Any help is welcome and thanks in advance, Jesse

Got to have tires on wheels that you intend to use. Mount them on mower and measure from ground to frame. Subtract 2 1/2" from frame.

Thanks for the reply but wouldn't changing tire size affect the speed too much? I'm using a peerless 6 speed transaxle with a 12.5 briggs intek, 3 inch rear pulley and probably 5 inch or bigger in front, also I need a engine pulley, I can't find them anywhere here in western KY

Check out tractor supply. That's where I got all of my pulleys from, if there is not one around you then you could still probably order it off-line

IF you change the tire size it will affect your gearing. Find the set you intend on using front and rear before you start cause it will have a big factor on where you start welding your hangers and axle etc. Set the frame on a jig with the height you wanna be and make everything else fit to the frame.

Thanks guys i'll keep it all in mind when I start my project
