I see you live in Saco. Are you guys racing at the path finders track. If so that would explain it. Where dose he run the AP? I would like to know as there are only 2 tracks in this area that can support any kind of speed and one of them just opened this fall.idk ill ask him
Recoil. I've done it. Wait I still do it...speakin of recoil i wanted to know my buddy has a 14 hp kohler on a walk behind mower and my rider racer is 15.5 hp mines electric start could i modify a pull start for it or do they sell one thx for anyone that can help and to the battery issue try a atv battery there a bit smaller good luck to yah post pics of your build when you can

A full cord of wood -- depending on the wood -- is about a ton +/-. Two cords of wood plus the trailer weight is more than the transmissions you originally asked about will dependably handle. Of the three you have linked, the 353 would be the best one, but as Honey Badger noted, shifters for these, as well as the 600s, are very scarce. From a been-there-done-that perspective, if you go with the Footes, you'll put one of these transmissions on your mower and, when it breaks, put another one on, and when that one breaks...
Have you considered an 820 transaxle, one with the granny-low (4.55:1) gear? If you need a locked axle, this can be done easily on the 820s. And tandemizing your unit with an 820 transaxle isn't impossible. What size drive tires are you using? Do you have a picture of this unit as it is now?
