Racing Mower Builds / Re: George's NEW BUILD for 07
« on: September 15, 2010, 12:52:08 pm »
George- I dont want to beat a dead horse but, in the pics of your belt guides and pulley setup, Do you have trouble with the belt rubbing the clutch pedal bolt for the clutch pedal "arm" ? Mine seems to rub that area, mainly when the clutch is depressed and the belt has slack. Seems to be causing a problem the last couple races with the back side of the belt getting cut in that area. I guess i will try to come up with a different clutch rod design to gain more clearence for the belt.....

I have not Seen Anything posted about this race from this past Sunday. I would like to thank everybody that put on a great show. Manny torres and Bruce Kaufman did a good job once again running this event. We had mowers from a local ARMA group join us as well and even had Transponders this year! Just wanted to say thanks!

(MarkieMark)- Sorry again about the last lap pass! I'm a clean racer and never try to take anybody out, one of those racing deals. I have video from that race if you want to see it. PM me.

Chassis / Re: cheap kart spindle bushings
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:33:06 am »
i use mcmasters "sleeved bearings". I beleive i used part #6338k428. I'm at work and don't have the recipet in front of me, but i'm sure this will get you in the right direction. I had to modify the kart spindle slightly to fit these. But i just packed them with wheel bearing grease and have not had an issue so far and its been 10 hard races on them. I actually have about 8 extra bearings being only a buck or so a peice. Can't beat it. Hope this helps. O almost forgot: www.mcmaster.com is the site.

about the tire circumfrence, this changes depending on the tire and preasure. The Circumfrence will grow the faster the tire spins. Just a thought.

You said the coil was new, do you have another coil to try? I have had that problem, when the new coil would get hot at high rpm's it would break up, worth a shot.

Briggs Flathead / Re: 28 Rebuild Help (More power?)
« on: May 26, 2010, 08:29:56 am »
I was there to help tear it now. The bolt to the outside of the rod, towards the outside of the crank was broken off in the rod still. I'm thinking it came loose (backed out) then it just went to town. No heat marks on the bearings, Crank is actually in decent shape to reuse, but were going to put another one in it. The engine was used and did have some hours on it. Just one of them things!
