I am a little behind with this post but I want to thank everyone that came to the Southern Shootout. I got to meet some new faces and see some good ole friends as well. Lawn Mower Racing has been a big part of my life since the year 2001 and it always will be. Ever since I have been Lawn Mower Racing across this great country of ours I have met some of the greatest people ever. After 10+ years of racing it is so great to have my hometown McDonough, GA marked on a map in the USLMRA racing circuit. I could not have done all this without the help that I have like Jewell Strickland's work that he has done to the track, all of the track worker's , Sam Davis's job on promoting the race locally and all the other stuff he has done, my wife Janet and daughters Lauren & Hope and son J. T. , the Henry Co. Recreation and Parks Dept. and Bruce and his hard working Staff and Ya'll (The Racer's).

Can't wait to see everyone. Looks like some new faces are coming and that's great. I will try and post some pics of the track this week. For Ya'll's info: the track is 540 ft.  (2nd mower drive line from the inside).  I was out there yesterday helping Jewell finish up the winner's circle. He had just got finished grading the track surface and it's looking good!

Also, we need volunteers to be there at 3pm to do track work and place haybales and at the end of the races put the haybales back up. Hope everyone can make it.

Finally, I am able to get on a computer to thank the USLMRA Staff Bruce, Kerry, Manny, and Rodney for a job well done thanks again guys. And a big thanks to everyone that came, especially to the ones that traveled as far as they did like Rooster and Teddy Bear from Kansas, Michael and Tina Paccione from New Jersey, The whole Gang from Maryland, I think there were 3 or 4 20 ft. trailer loads, what a great bunch of guys and gals. George Herrin and his family, everyone that came up from the Mobile AL area and the Florida Lawn Mower Racing Assc., David Wright (Yardzilla) from N.C., the ETLMRA, all the guys from Middle GA that support our local track each month. Kaori and the Japenese TV network. Thanks also to Diver Dan and Carrie, Mark Boyce, Alan Elder, Diletta Wiggins, Sandra and Tony Hinson, and the GLMRA Windy Hill Speedway staff for all their help. It was a great honor for me to present Johnny Wilder and Bobby Cleveland with  plaques recognizing them for discovering how to make a lawn mower GO FAST! After 10 years of lawn mower racing this has been a dream come true to have a National Race in my hometown McDonough, GA.

Kerry,  Speaking for all of us, we can't thank you enough for transpondering our race last night. It made life a whole lot easier on everybody that works the track and for the racers especially the racers who have never been to a transponder race.  Thanks again!!!

USLMRA Races / Georgia LMRA's next race
« on: October 06, 2010, 09:44:06 am »

The next race is Sat. Oct. 23, 2010. This is our last race of the year. Pit Gates open at 12 noon, Registration and Tech will close at 4:30, Drivers meeting at 4:45, Practice at 5pm, Racing at 6pm. It is very important that we stay on this time schedule because this is a transponder race provided by Kerry Evans VP USLMRA & EOP Timing & Scoring. If you the racer plan on attending this race and do not have a transponder brkt. already mounted on your mower please get there in time to buy a transponder brkt. for $ 5.00 and mount it on your mower.  So far this race is expected to be a large event as far as mowers participating so please get there in time to register and have mowers teched so the registration and tech line are not all being done at the last minute. Thanks for everyone's cooperation in this timely matter. The track address is 100 Windy Hill Dr. Windy Hill Park (Speedway), Exit 218 I-75, GA Hwy 20/81, McDonough GA.  All racers please let me know if you are attending this race so I can get a head count. My cell # is 770 294-0861 or respond to this post .

Thanks Hooters Racing for posting this. I have been having computer problems all week. An addition has been added on to the original track layout and that is a Dog-Leg just like AMS Atlanta Motor Speedway. This should help those with the tight turns that were there, now they are wider.
