This is going to be my first race mower. The hood was in the shop the day I took this picture. At least it is a place to start.

Holy crap Skeeter.  Could you resize and maybe compress that first picture a little?  I'd like to see what it is THIS year.

Thank you!!!!!!

Those big files are a pet peeve of mine, along with the code some people type in.   I was never all that great in school, but at least I learned to read and write english.  I have no idea what some of the stuff people put on various forums are now a days.   So I usually just skip the gibberish, and read the ones with WORDS.

the first pic of the crafstman is gunna make a GREAT racer thats is what mine id made from. Matt, and my bro

what makes hem so good for me is the clutching system it rearly slips ( wet belt or worn belt it slip obviously )

if you keep that tranny in there and u put a 3inch pully in the back your gunna need to put 2 idler pullys on either side of the frame so that u can get it to shift properly...  the shifter will hit the belt casue of how far it moves

in mine i put a peerless 700 series with a straight axel and i also got a custom frotn end and i cut my fenders so I sit lower ( not the machine )
i sit at 5 inches of the ground in front with 15/6/6 and in the back i sit at about 8 with 15/6.50/8 and im goin to 13/6.50/6 turfmaster soon

Mine had a model# of 917.255520 on the fender. Anyone know how to tell a year from that number?

Thank you Don. I knew someone would know. I did not think to GOOGLE it. Guess google will do more than I give it credit for.

Well with a '91 12.5 briggs and a '91 craftsman and an old 700 series peerless I will have a '91 racer. Maybe USLMRA will have a number for me ending in 91. :D
