Fuel Pump Issues
« on: July 12, 2006, 02:08:52 pm »
Alright i have a 16.5 hp Murry (FREEEEBIEEE!!) all there exept a gas tank and seat. i was wondering what , if any, fuel pump was used. i would like to use one if possible, i hate grav. feed. it just so happens i have a new Holley Blue pump and regulator and all the an fittings/line to make it work. my question is, would it be to much? also has anyone ever tried fabing say a holley mono jet carb on ar a really small 2 barrel edelbrock? just asking, i have a bunch of parts layin around, and i get to thinkin' let me know. all input is welcome
     P.S Not for competition use!

Fuel Pump

As best I recall there is a slight modification to the intake to make it work, it if wasn't equipped with one from the factory, nothing major. Intake is immediately below the fuel pump.

Holly Blue Pump is going to be too much, unless you add a regulator, and I suspect even then it's going to be to much.

As for the car carb on a mower... good luck! And... you might want to keep the fire extinguisher handy!! They don't require nearly that much fuel.

George would be much better able to answer that one for you, I honestly couldn't tell you myself. Most of the guys racing suggest the pulse type pump is plenty capable of keeping up however.

If you use our modified walbro pulse pump I promise it will pump all the fuel you need and NO it won't handle a car carb. You will wash the cylinder down and wala she will sieze.
