I'm not sure if there's any difference but the TVM220 is legal for AP. I have a TVXL220 but haven't checked into it much.  I was planning to use it in a AP build so I am curious too!

I'm no authority on Tecumseh's but according to the Northern Tool ad, first listed below, it would appear one has recoil start (or as listed backup recoil start), the other is electric start (or simply electric start). The schematics on the TVM220 at Tulsa Engine Warehouse, second link, do show a starter in place on the drawing, however you will note top left corner that it is optional. There are no schematics for the TVXL220, leading me to believe that may be the only difference.

I'm interested in either of the two engines or parts.  What do you have?

well I have the two complete engines one has a backup recoil start the tvxl does not they are complete and they both turn over with iincredible compression but the carbs are needing rebuilt and the staters prolly need cleaned but that is what I have in the way of indians. I lied I also have a 12hp ohv vert. indian and a 7hp briggs  and I have a few mowers I have a mid sixtys rugg that needs a racer to build it I have already stripped it  for preping  but I have all the parts minus the axles and engine and tranny it had a huge hole in it and I have a few tranaxles and a complete dynamark as well minus the deck.all for sale or trade I need a front axle for my imow to finish it
If you were at the sparta race I had the dynamark there.

What do you want for the 2 complete Tecumsehs?  I live in FL so I know the shipping will be rough but that's o.k.

hey al whats up havent heard from you in awhile I dont know make me an offer I have already stripped it so the front and rear axles are gone and the tranny had a hole ablout the size of a half dollar in it and the engine was junk it needs some clean up and straightening but it in good shape I would like to get it out of my way
since the imow change I think I am going to stay with that for now I do need an axle for my I mow I would do some swapping if you are interested let me know
