Camshaft choice

Hi, Guys,

I have just replaced my 12hp flathead with a 12.5 OHV kohler. I have gained a small amount of power straight up but am curious about doing somthing with the cam. Does any one have experience with a cv12.5 motor that could give me some advise as to the lift and duration that i should look at using. Also what timing do you use for these motors. Any help would be appreciated.

Just curious, which 12hp. flathead motor was replaced by this one?

i had a briggs 12hp flat head 28ci. now i have a kohler 12.5 ohv.I have a race this weekend so will see how it goes. 8)
