Building a Lawn Tractor for the auto show
«

The auto show that comes here once a year is going to let anything with wheels be entered, so I thought why not a lawn tractor.
It started out as a 1998 Murray 16.5 HP w/a 42" cut and a 6 speed Peerless in it.
It's going to get a 18 HP opposed in it and a 52"cut deck.
Here is the start of the frame.
Of course the pic's are stacked backwards
It was tore down to the lock washer's this spring and put in boxes and stacked in the corner and I spent the summer rounding up parts and stuff for the winter build.
I would Love to race, but being in a wheel chair it can't be done. So I rebuild tractors to stay busy and also repair them get some pocket change to buy more tractors and parts. I make more $$$ this way than if I was racing them.

Did not get to much done today, went and got the knock off's for the back wheels and found that they fit the front wheels very nice. So now I got to get two more knock-off's.
And worked on the front axle a little more, got tire's ordered ( these are just mock-up tire's ) and going to get the rim's power coated black.
No matter what I do the pic's always run backwards
This tractor might be used as a pace tractor as well.
More in a few day's

Now is time to either dip strip or bead plast the tins. I'll see what one will be cheapist to do. then I can trick out the engine.
This is the engine I'm installing, already been inside of it, so now I can trick it out while the tins are being striped.
this exhaust system give's the engine a very deep rumble, I'm going to get it and the intake manifold HPC coated.
