Any non affiliated racers in the Mid Atlantic?
« on: April 08, 2008, 10:37:40 pm »
I am shooting a documentary on lawn mower racing.  I have been getting the ARMA and USLMRA side of the story but I would like to hear what the non affiliated or "outlaw" racers have to say on the sport.  What do they have to say about organized racing?  Are you guys the pirates of the sport?  Do you wear puffy shirts and eye patches over your eyes?  If you have non affiliated events in PA, NJ, MD, DE, WV or VA please let me mow.

Thanks,
Mike Ratel

The AMRA has 6 races scheduled so far this year. We race in the northern part of North Carolina. We have races in Sparta NC and North Wilkesboro, they are not that far out of Virginia, I am sure if you wanted to come and film it wouldn't be a problem.

And NO! we don't wear puffy shirts or eye patches!

The Brothers of the Blade have been racing for 7 years in central Wisconsin. We are the originators of lawnmower ice racing. I would love to tell you our story.   Bojie55

I would love to hear your story.  I am hoping to get some footage of some ice races.  I have plans to hook up with a few racers in Wisc this Winter.

Check out the SEMOW Lawn Racers Mike... http://www.semowlawnracers.org

Great bunch of folks racing there, guys and gals, pretty much a class act in all respects. They make a lot of the local parades as a group, have a nice track set up and draw a real respectable crowd, donate a part of their proceeds back to local charities.

Their forum is linked on the website, jump on board and chat with them a bit.

Any non affiliated or outlaw racing or activities this spring?  If you're in the Mid Atlantic and working on your mower I'd love to come into your shop and shoot some footage.
