Sunday October 19th Race McConnellsburg, PA
« on: October 14, 2008, 07:49:22 PM »
The Fulton County Small Engine Club will be putting on a race Sunday afternoon October 19th at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in McConnellsburg, PA.

The race will be part of the Grease Steam & Rust Associations 28th annual show, so, there will be a lot of other family oriented things going on simultaneously on the fairgrounds.

- Antique Tractor Show
- Toy Show
- Flea market
- Steam Engines
- Threshing machines, Sawmill, Shingle Mill,
- Small Engines, Hit & Miss engines
- Petting Zoo
- Helicopter Rides
- Funnel Cakes (for Mrs. Grubbdigger)

Go to for a complete flier for the entire weekend

Anyway back to Sunday,
- There will be morning church services starting at 9:00 A.M.
- Horse Pulls start at 11:00 A.M.
- The Mower Races are advertised to start at 2:00 P.M.

We will race whatever ARMA classes that we have enough mowers to run in.

We race on the same track that the Horses pull on. Therefore we can't get completely set up and get started until the Horse pulls are over and the Horses are out of the area. We don't need a couple frightened wild Clydesdales or Percherons running loose through the fairgrounds because a mini-sportsman or pro-X just ran between them.

However, we can get some of the registration done.

I'd like to get registration started sometime around 12:00 - 12:30 and tech started as soon as the horses are out of the area.

McCONNELLSBURG, PA is in South central Pennsylvania.

PA State Route 30 and PA State Route 522 cross in McConnellsburg. PA State Route 16 also comes into McConnellsburg. We're about 9 miles South of the PA Turnpike Rte 76.

Nearby towns:
Berkley Springs, WV - 30 minutes
Breezewood PA- 25 minutes
Carlilse, PA - 1 hour
Chambersburg, PA 30 minutes
Cumberland, MD - 1-15 hour & minutes
Hagerstown, MD - 45 minutes
Hancock, MD- 25 minutes
Huntington, PA - 1 hour
Winchester, VA - 1 hour & 15 minutes

If ya have any questions give me a holler.

President, Fulton County Small Engine Club
