BELT PROBLEM

the belt kips turning up side down i have 5/8 pulleys and 1/2 belt on what would be the problem thanks denis

Make sure everything is aligned right. Also make sure the belt isnt worn bad and doesnt have notches in it. That caused my belt to flip around.

Alignment, alignment, alignment...

Lay a staright edge against pully faces to assure true parallel tracking...

If pulleys are out of parallel or "twisted" to each other, belt will run hard on one side..which heats it up and causing it to grab more..

As all the pull and twist is coming from one side it causes the belt to ride up the groove and "roll"... eventually "flipping" the belt...

Are the pulleys running true? No slight bend on the edges of the pulleys? Are the shafts on the pulleys straight and true to each other? Just a few other things to look for.  I have found that a small lazer level on a tripod comes in real handy for looking at stuff like this.
