Hi Guys I have a Carb Question
« on: June 16, 2006, 12:01:44 am »
Ok this is actually for my regular mower I cut grass with...  It's a 12.5 I/C  motor #289707  I picked up a carb off a 17 hp motor #311707.
Here comes the question... :?:   The carb is a basic walbro carb with an afterfire solenoid.  I know these carbs are jetted....so can I just put this on the 12.5 or should I get a rebuild kit with the proper jets or even a home brew adjustable needle. if it can run on the 12.5 just alittle rich I can live with it but if it's gonna spit fuel out the exhaust I will change it.  Just wanted your input.       Henry

it should run just fine on the 12 and not even be rich, there really isn't as much difference as one thinks many of them run the same jetting.

I kinda figured that but I'd thought I'd throw it up on the board just to make sure and see what you guys thought.  Thanks again George
