Can someone help with sites or dealers for performance parts for a 25 hp Kohler. Flywheel, rods, etc.

Thanks again, Jack. I am building a racer and trying to decide what engine to use. You don't have any ties to North Carolina do you I am also a Jones.

I just finished my Kohler powered B/P.  It's the latest in the Hard Case Stable.  I don't know of any relatives in NC but you never know!

That's pretty sweet. It looks mighty low. What class are you running. I thought most Kohler engines were used for pullers.

It is built for the B/P class with USLMRA and Super Sportsman in ARMA.  The pullers use the horizonal engine but all internal parts are interchangable with the vertical.

There is a track down in Elerby N.C. (Richmond county) the rules are little funny because they are some of ARMA some of USLMRA and some of their own. In some of their classes if you build to their specs you would be illegal with some associations. They have good safety regulations but  its almost anything goes with their modified class. There is a lot of compotition down there. Alot of good hard racing.

Elerby, that's Crouch country. They are front runners all the time. The Chappel's are always running good to, and many others. These guys have some serious Twin class competition.

Well try to build your mower to be a sanctioned legal mower, that way you can race anywhere you want for the most part.

George,
I thought you would know that crowd. I had all ready heard that you helped them get to the front. Your exactly right about the competition These boys don't necessarily go for guts but they sure go for the glory.
By the we spoke on the phone you sold me my front end.

I had started my mower trying to make everyone happy but talking to some of the guys that are racing and looking at their machines (ditch the rear of the frame, lower the seat down below the tires, cut the fenders, change the wheel base, etc.) To be competitive and to stay legal I may have to build two mowers.

There building a new track of some sort of track at a motorX park near me rumor has it it will be a lawn mower track.

the only problem i have about ellerbe's rules is that a highly modified flathead single would have to run with the twins. something about no aluminum flywheels and also something to do with the axles aren't legal for single cylinder competition. its legal to run in the twin class though.
i built my mower to ARMA rules and its legal for ARMA, USLMRA and AMRA as well as most local tracks.

If you build it, it should fly.
take it out and let it eat...

Supposedly their going to allow a live axle setup in the factory mod class next year. There are some singles running in this class and its no alum. flywheel and no V-Twin. Basically the only difference between factory mod and modified is the engine
