Topic: Wichita Interest??????

Alrighty fellers.  I figured this was the best place to post this.  It is not a race posting, but rather a thread to see if there is interest in starting a Wichita KS area club.  I know there is a little interest there, and i am sure i could find a spot to start a track, but i would like to see what others think as well.  Like i said i know the interest is there, and i would love to start a more local group for myself, so what do you fellers think.

Hey Josh, me and my brother are working on starting a chapter for racing in Wichita. We are looking for drivers now and will be taking flyers for the races at the fair all around town. We have set up a website for it and have even come up with a provisional name of Wheatland Lawnmower Racing Associtation or WLMRA for short. I am working on setting up a chapter of ARMA and if we can get enough drivers to make it worth while Jeeps Motorcycle Club would like us to stage an exhibition race for them on their flat track. They have a great facility for us. We may also be able to build a road course at our parents place because they have around 6 acres of pasture land. Im goin to do my best to get there, me and dad are going to work most of the day sunday on my racer.  I ordered a snapper header today so we can get the exhaust done, and i have it all planned out for my steering and dropping my transaxle.  I was going to stop at redline in wichita and get a brake setup, but i got too busy and didnt get to make it.  Going to check out the go mow website now!!

Me and my brother will be there but unfortunately as spectators. There is no way I will have my mower ready by then because I am still waiting for parts. Do you have any idea about what time you guys plan on being there? I would like to bring by some of the flyers we have made so you guys can hand them out to any interested spectators.

Please keep in mind that our website is really more of a place marker while we design a better site. We just wanted to get something up before the fair.

A few of us will be there Saturday evening across from gate 7 having a cook out. Sunday we will go into the track in the morning.

Yea stop by, not sure what time but we will be over there, there should be some traileres with mowers on them around you it should be easy to find us.

I have handed out quite a few flyers so I hope there will be enough interest to start a new club around here next year. We went and looked at another track outside Park City today but it is completely overgrown so I'm not sure if it has any future. Too bad because it looks like a great track. We are going to make some phone calls tomorrow about it. Anyway, we'll be looking out for you guys.

If the track still has a good base and some form to it, woould be easier than starting from scratch, and better in the end. You'd be amazed at how much goes into a nice one!

Look us Cutloose Racers up at the fair Al, we'll be easy to spot...Our mowers will be pulling trailers , one orange one, one yellow one and an old blue one.
