New Twist To My Racing
« on: August 18, 2008, 04:30:15 pm »

I've been racing dirt cars since high school " 1968 " and it's to the point now that I just can't afford to run anymore. The price of racing as you all know has skyrocketed to the point a lot of us can't constitute it.

Lucily I ran across your site and I think it's somthing I can manage on the low end scale. unfortunatly there isn't a track or group even close to my area here in eastern Ohio. My idea is to build a lawn racer and present it to my old racing buddies and try to stir their interest in it as well.

I think picking a class or making one of our own to run would probably be the way to go for now. Any ideas or comments ? I need all the input I can get as I'm green as Grass , no pun , as to racing lawn mower tractors.

Thx,

Gonzo

If you build it, it should fly.
take it out and let it eat...

To show how green I am , I don't even have a mower yet to build on. I have to research the classes to deside what to build , then , gather the mower and parts to build it.

I appreciate all your inputs however.

Well get on it..... :D

Go to a race and soak up the atmosphere and I guarantee that you will have a tractor in a few weeks after that experience...

That's how I got started....

Glad to see new interest and welcome. Let me introduce myself, I'm Al Myers Ohio President of the Ohio Lawnmower Racing Association under USLMRA and I would be glad to help in anyway possible. I will be working hard to start an Affliliate USLMRA group so we might bring racer from all over Ohio together and use USLMRA insurance while blending the class, starting method and policies of the many different groups of racers. My phone is 740-272-7427 and if you get a chance please come over to the USLMRA NAtional championships over labor day weekend, they are being held in Delaware Ohio, 236 Pennsylvania AVe. Delaware, Ohio 43015. We will be racing on Friday Night, Saturday and Sunday. So please join us and meet the family of lawnmower racing. Al Myers
