hot running 31 flat head
« on: July 31, 2008, 06:15:40 pm »
For the last couple races my SP have been running poorly. I have checked flywheel key, changed coil head gasket, fuel pump,  carb , and went back to 87 octane fuel.                                                               I was running EC carb and I would run 3 laps go to get on it out of the corner and it would die flat on its face like it was out of fuel, but the bowl was full. So I put another  carb with adjustable jet and it would do the same thing. When it dies I listen to the carb and I can hear the fuel sizzeling in the carb. Im thinking maybe Its vapor locking. Im running out of ideas. Its been around 90 degrees the past couple weeks. Any help thanks.                 Tyler Frazier 012 SP

Have a header just like yours and have header wrap on it.

Check to make sure the vent on gas tank is not glogged, and make sure you are useing a carb jetted for a fuel pump.

You may try it without the fuel pump
