my simplicity 4108
« on: May 06, 2008, 11:32:17 pm »
this is my first post so forgive me if i mess up on this.

this is to show what $35 can get you.
this is my (1979-1981?) simplicity 4108. i bought it off this guy who bought it as a project along with a 90's murray. he never worked on this mower but only on the murray. so i had to see if it ran or not myself ;).
i stuck a battery and some gass in it and it fired right up! 8hp briggs engine. this is my 3rd mower project but the first one ive ever had running. so im pretty much a beginner looking to just change the pulleys and keep the mower as a "for fun" mower. But im not the sharpest tool in the shed and i really dont know how to change pulleys on it.
im pretty much just trying to teach myself everything because there is no one in my neck of the woods that hasw a mower just for fun.
so im looking to get a little help off this site.
thanks and please send any help or commemts my way! 8)

I see your profile shows you are from OHIO. There is a USLMRA chapter www.OHLMRA.com and not sure but their may also be a ARMA chapter close as well.

What are your intentions???? do you want to RACE? Or is just driving it around your yard going to satisfy you?

Just REMEMBER SAFETY. Whenever ANY type of vehicle is being used  (go-kart/ atv/ mower...ect) that has been modified or manufatured for speed...wear protective equipment for yourself. Just never know when a mishap could happen. Long sleeves, neck brace, helmet, kill switch...ect.....will at least help limit any injuries than can occur.
