« on: May 14, 2006, 10:31:42 pm »
ive got a 700 series peerless and it cost me a race this weekend because it kicked out of gear causeing me to spin out. what would cause it to do this? it was just recently rebuilt with new shifter keys, cleaned out all the grease and added gear oil.

Did you check the inside of the gears when replaceing the shifter keys. They should have a somehwat sharp edge with no =chips or burs. Also the shift collar did you install it right thicker lip goes towards the gears. This will cause this to happen. If this is the case you will probably have to install new shift keys and while doing so do not forget to check the inside of the gears.
