Wiring a solenoid
« on: March 23, 2008, 06:42:16 pm »
I just picked up a NAPA solenoid for a 73 Ford F-100 for my wife's mower. I haven't wired one of these up in a long time since I run a Nippo starter. Does the wire from the starter button go on the stud marked "S" or "I"?

S terminal Keith.

That's what I thought...but didn't want to fry it by trusting my unsure judgement.

Thanks

probably the "S" terminal but put the cables on the big terminals first then hold the button down and touch the wire to the terminal and see which one works. DON'T screw it on so you can just touch it and see which makes it work. AFTER you decide whick is correct then screw it  on. It is only 12 volts and it won't hurt you to touch the wire.
