Thats one reason I do not use the valve stem seals on a race motor.

i know the reason you dont run seals on your valves, if the clearance between the  valve and the guide is correct you will not lose any oil down the guide, now on the other hand if the valve is lose in the guide you better believe it will suck oil down the guide the same time its sucking a fresh charge of air and fuel into the cylinder, ditto for the exhaust side as their is never vacumn present when the exhaust valve is open, did i match wits with ya george? :D

let me guess... when you put the double springs on then the seals won't fit, they rub or conflict with the inner springs.

maybe he can't get maxium lift with seals on it.  just a guess

The First sentence is the most correct, LOL....Actually you are all correct. And yes its for several reasons. But with my cam theres no room for guide or seal.

i dont like these motors at all. i had one and i sold it for 10 bucks. it was the worste motor i've ever tried to work on or even drive. it was horrible. i would rather stick with my 12 hp flathead  8)

tHE WORST MOTOR!!!! You simply didn't understand what to do or how. The Vanny is one of the best engines period whether ya cutting grass or racing.
